1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using FakeOut ("the App") or visiting fakeout.io ("the Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
2. Service Description
FakeOut provides tools to help users assess whether images and videos may be AI-generated or manipulated, and to fact-check text claims against third-party sources. Results are informational only.
Scores aren't guaranteed. They're a second opinion, not legal, medical, or financial advice.
3. Accounts
Text fact-checking and translation may be used without an account. Image and video detection require sign-in (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) to sync credits and prevent abuse. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
Paid packs and subscriptions are sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Prices, billing, renewals, and cancellations are governed by the applicable store's terms.
Refunds are handled by the store where you purchased. If a purchase is refunded, associated credits may be revoked per store policies. USD prices shown on our website are illustrative; local pricing applies at purchase.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App to violate any law or others' rights
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse our APIs
- Upload illegal content or content you do not have rights to analyze
- Circumvent credit limits or authentication requirements
6. Disclaimers
THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE DETECTION ACCURACY OR FACT-CHECK COMPLETENESS.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FAKEOUT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR SITE.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
